Local SEO in Vendée: win your town before you chase the département

A butcher in Luçon does not need to rank in Nantes. He needs to rank when someone in Luçon (and the next village) searches today.

I work from Luçon. Most of the sites I ship are for businesses people visit in a car, not from a Paris coworking. The SEO that matters is boring and geographic.

Google cares about where the searcher is

“Optician near me” on a phone in Chantonnay is not the same query as the same words in Les Sables-d’Olonne. Your Google profile’s address and your service area should tell the truth. Inflating the area to “all Vendée” can make you look further and less relevant.

Put the commune in the text, not only in the logo

Write Chantonnay, Luçon, Fontenay-le-Comte — the words people type. Hours, parking, the street. That is not keyword stuffing. That is how a human gives directions.

A page titled “Our universe of excellence” with no town is a page for nobody here.

Compete with the shop down the road

National directories and marketplace listings will always exist. Your job is to be the obvious local result: complete Maps, fast site, real photos, phone that works. That is a fight you can win in a town of a few thousand.

If you later need to cover two sites (a second workshop), that is a second address on Google — not one poetic homepage about “the region”.
