If you do not own the domain and the Google login, you do not own the shop window

A common trap: the agency registered the domain in their name, and the Maps profile sits on a staff Gmail you will never get.

I meet owners who cannot change a phone number because “the developer has the access”. That is not a technical problem. That is a hostage situation with extra steps.

Three things that must be in your name

The domain (yourname.fr) at a registrar you can log into. The hosting or the export of the files. The Google Business Profile with you as owner, not a contractor who left in 2019.

If any of those bounce to someone else’s inbox, you are renting visibility. Ask for a screenshot of the owner list this week, not when you are angry.

How lock-in usually looks

A random subdomain on the agency brand. A builder you cannot export. “We keep the Google account for security.” Monthly fees that quietly include a threat: leave and the site goes dark.

None of that is required to run a shop website. It is required to keep you paying.

How I run it — and how you leave anyone

On bardin.me work, you keep the site, the Google account, the code and the deployment. The 25€/month is for hosting and updates, not for owning your name. You can walk.

If you are stuck elsewhere: request the domain transfer, request owner invite on Maps, download the site files. Do it while you still pay them. After the fight, they are slower.
